After getting started to build this quilt, I see changes that I will make. At first, I was going to put those skinny veins and stems of the leaves down first and build the sections of the leaves on top - but decided that it looks too choppy that way.

Putting those pieces on top will smooth the look of the leaf! More about that later.

Also, I decided that I will put a narrow (1/2 inch wide) border

between the wider red outside border and the rest of the quilt - again this will give a smother, straighter looking frame.
