I Think I Can, I Think I Can

Jan 17, 2014

I found a tessellating maple leaf in a MindWare book of GeoDesigns. I have requested and received permission to use the design. Then, I drew a tree structure through it. Leaves are over and under the tree shape.  I used wide color highlighters to try and keep my mind organized to what will be what.

This “jig saw” will have color, numbers and letters to help me find the correct placement for each piece. I am working on numbering this working drawing now and then will make my freezer paper copy for cutting out fabric.

Can’t wait to get to using the fabric - I have purchased a bunch! I will wash it first. Freezer paper holds to fabric better without the sizing and I will be able to wash this quilt and not worry about all those batiks bleeding their color.

I plan to build this with my turned edge “NO Sewing Until You Quilt It” technique. I think I can, I think I can.
