A time for remembering

Dec 13, 2015

I had to say goodbye to Rosie, my pet, my quilting companion, and exercise conscious. She was not so interested in chasing squirrels any longer but she was always at my feet, and I had to get up to let her out to at least investigate when a neighbor’s dog wandered by.

My husband's mother and her sister, both in their 90‘s passed away recently and this quilt top was stitched, by machine, by their mother, Lillie. I purchased a backing and had Rachel Reese from Asheville, NC machine quilt it. I just finished binding the quilt and washed it. It is finished after all these years.. I plan to give it to my husband’s oldest sister, for Christmas.

I will add a label with any info that I have, so hopefully it will stay in the family and future generations will remember.
